Sportspal Canoes by Meyers: A Buyer's Guide to America's Most Trusted Aluminum Canoe

May 01, 2026

If you've spent any time researching aluminum canoes for fishing or hunting, you've likely come across the Sportspal name. Built by Meyers Boat Company in Adrian, Michigan, Sportspal canoes have earned a loyal following among serious outdoors people for one simple reason: they're built to last and built to perform. At Molnar Outdoor Online, we're proud to carry the full Sportspal lineup — and because these are large watercraft, there are a couple of important things to know before you order.

How Pickup and Delivery Work

Sportspal canoes are available for pickup only from the Meyers facility in Adrian, MI (or Molnar Outdoor in Amherst, OH depending on model availability in our showroom). If you're not local, no problem — you can arrange freight delivery through uShip, a trusted peer-to-peer shipping marketplace where you can get competitive quotes from carriers who specialize in oversized items like canoes. Simply purchase your canoe, then coordinate your uShip shipment directly. All shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility, and our standard 30-day return policy applies (20% restocking fee; shipping costs are non-refundable).

Which Sportspal Is Right for You?

All Sportspal canoes share the same core DNA: aircraft-grade aluminum construction, a two-piece hull joined at the keel, ethafoam lining so the canoe won't sink even when fully swamped, and a package that includes 2 wood paddles, 2 attached gunwale seats (a free upgrade from standard), carry handles, and a rope gripper. Here's how the models compare:

Sportspal 12' Canoe Package — $1,639

Best for: Solo paddlers, small ponds, tight streams

The most compact option in the lineup, the 12-footer is ideal for solo fishing trips on smaller lakes, ponds, and slow-moving rivers. It's easy to car-top, easy to launch solo, and still rated for up to 650 lbs capacity. Includes a trolling motor mount. Available in Birch Bark and Olive Drab.

Sportspal 14' Canoe Package — $1,705

Best for: Tandem paddlers, fishing, hunting, versatile all-around use

The 14' is the sweet spot for most buyers — roomy enough for two paddlers with gear, manageable enough to handle solo if needed. With a 650 lb capacity, 23 ribs, and a trolling motor mount included, it's a capable fishing and hunting platform. Available in Birch Bark and Olive Drab.

Sportspal 16' Canoe Package — $1,933

Best for: Tandem paddlers, extended trips, heavier loads

The largest canoe in the round-stern lineup, the 16' is built for serious expeditions and heavier loads — rated up to 720 lbs with 29 ribs for added rigidity. If you're planning multi-day trips, hauling hunting gear, or paddling bigger open water, this is your canoe. Includes a trolling motor mount. Available in Birch Bark and Olive Drab.

Sportspal S-13 Square Stern Canoe Package — $1,953

Best for: Motor fishing, duck hunting, serious anglers

The S-13 Square Stern is in a class of its own. The flat transom allows you to mount a small outboard motor (up to 3 HP), making it the go-to choice for anglers who want the stability and maneuverability of a canoe with the added range of a motor. At 625 lbs capacity and 25 ribs, it's a serious fishing and hunting platform. Note: pickup is from Amherst, OH. Available in Birch Bark and Olive Drab.

Why Sportspal?

In a market flooded with plastic and fiberglass canoes, Sportspal stands apart. The aircraft-grade aluminum construction means these canoes are virtually indestructible under normal use — no cracking, no warping, no UV degradation. The ethafoam lining is a genuine safety feature: even fully swamped and loaded, a Sportspal won't sink. These are canoes built for people who take their time on the water seriously.
